The final work is a screenprinted and hand-bound artist’s book, with sewn signatures introducing additional scans and continuing the collage process. Entirely visual, the book has no fixed reading direction, requiring the reader to turn, unfold and navigate its structure. This physical movement reflects my experience of wandering through the city, with fragments of imagery building a larger picture. Produced as a variable edition of 21, each book differs slightly, reflecting how repeated walks along familiar routes revealed something different with each encounter.

Am I Still a Tourist?

The title Am I Still a Tourist? emerged towards the end of the residency, as familiar routes, everyday routines and working within the city began to shift my relationship with Valencia. It prompted questions about my position as a temporary visitor, how I engage with unfamiliar places, and what I bring to and take from those encounters. These questions remain open, offering a starting point for future journeys and place-responsive projects.
